GWAVA keeps your system up-to-date with the latest tactics used by spammers. It learns and builds on its knowledge of spam. By analyzing your incoming email, GWAVA determines your organization’s unique needs and separates legitimate email from spam. GWAVA contains two engines, each of which approaches spam differently.
The probability engine makes use of artificial intelligence to maximize your spam catching abilities. It lets you define rules and learns from received spam, evolving into better and better spam protection. With this technology, you can enjoy the highest percentages of spam protection in the industry, at the same time reducing the problem of false positives.
The GWAVA signature engine locates known spammers based on their signatures and blocks them. Continually updated information about spammers and spam attacks is fed into the signature engine so you can stop it before it clogs up your message system.
GWAVA spam blocking functions include:
- Address blocking—lets you create your own blocklists.
- Content filtering—scans the subject, body, and attachments of messages for words or phrases you wish to stop.Content filtering not only saves time, but helps you prevent confidential information or offensive words from being disseminated.
- Heuristics—using these rules, GWAVA searches each message for a list of spam characteristics and attributes a spam score to the message accordingly. The accuracy of heuristics means that GWAVA can determine what is spam so you don’t have to.
- SURBL technology—using SURBLs (Spam URL Realtime Blocklists), GWAVA finds common URL links inside the spam email itself.
- IP reputation scanning—filters messages based on the sending server's IP address (including greylisting).
- Conversation tracking—tracks your conversations so that crucial replies and threads aren’t caught in the spam filter.
- TLS support—provides support for end-to-end encryption of transmitted messages.
