Easy-to-Use Content Control
With GWAVA, you just set it up, run it and you’re done. There’s no need to re-configure or maintain the system. GWAVA’s SmartBlocker takes care of everything. GWAVA is consistently easy to use, reliable and worry-free. When needed, users can log into the quarantine in real-time, review blocked messages and release email immediately.
Perimeter Blocking
GWAVA blocks most viruses and spam before they can even get near your post office. Once the GWAVA SMTP scanner is set up, it virtually runs itself. The SMTP scanner is distributed as an ISO with the GWAVA product so you can create your own spam scanning appliance using your own hardware. By using the perimeter blocker, your messaging system can run faster and more efficiently.
Mail Connectors
GroupWise connectors to the MTA, POA and GWIA come standard with GWAVA. GWAVA also includes SMTP to filter messaging at the perimeter of any standards-based internet mail system. To manage email from WebAccess®, GWAVA includes a connector to WASP™. Plus, for total Novell coverage, GWAVA also includes a Vibe® OnPrem (Teaming 3.0) plug-in.
SMTP Scanner
GWAVA is the only solution that provides virus, spam, and content scanning at the GWIA, MTA, POA, WebAccess (with WASP), and now at the SMTP gateway.
The GWAVA SMTP scanner can be deployed on a GWAVA server sitting outside GroupWise and your enterprise firewall to stop spam before it can even touch the GWIA.
By setting up a GWAVA SMTP firewall, you can stop spammers before they even have a chance to start sending you email. With a variety of connection level scanning techniques such as IP reputation and greylisting, the SMTP scanner will end communication from sources that are known to be spammers or display spammer-like tendencies.
Since over 90% of email traffic comes from spammers, using GWAVA at the perimeter of your GroupWise email system will help you conserve a large amount of bandwidth and save on network and server resources.
Linux and Windows 32-/64-Bit Support
GWAVA runs natively on both Linux® and Windows® on both 32 and 64 bits. It is also available as a soft appliance which can be installed directly on a physical computer or run as a virtual machine. GWAVA 5, with its performance and functional extensions, no longer supports NetWare® due to technical limitations.
End User Spam Control
GWAVA sends each user a single email with a summary of emails blocked as spam. The user can then release any individual email from the real-time web-based quarantine system without administrator help.

Scanning and Quarantine of Internal GroupWise Messages
