GWAVA Names Ken Muir as CEO and CTO Former Novell Executive Slated to Lead GWAVA into New Markets

Montreal, Quebec, Canada – July 12, 2011 — GWAVA today announced that it has appointed Ken Muir to serve as the company's Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer.

Muir, 41, a former Novell executive, most recently served as CTO and Vice President of Novell's Collaboration business where he was instrumental in building Novell's collaboration strategy and products. Prior positions include Chief of Staff to the CEO and various engineering and product management leadership positions. Muir has over 15 years experience in the software industry ranging from engineering and development to product strategy and technology management. He brings to GWAVA strong executive leadership and extensive knowledge of enterprise messaging systems, security and compliance.

Muir replaces long-time CEO and GWAVA co-founder, Charles Taite. Taite will remain as a member of the GWAVA Board of Directors along with fellow co-founder Marc St. Arnaud.

GWAVA Announces its Participation in Microsoft WPC GWAVA to Exhibit Retain and GWAVA at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference

GWAVA has recently upgraded its GWAVA Retain email archiving software to archive messages on Microsoft Exchange and Lync. Retain 2.5 archives all email, instant messages, address book and VOIP data, stores it once on-premise or in the cloud, and allows for easy search and retrieval. Export messages in PDF or PST format for e-discovery purposes.

The GWAVA anti-virus, cyber-crime product protects Microsoft Exchange as well as most other commonly used email systems. GWAVA Releases Retain 2.5 for Exchange and GroupWise

Montreal, Quebec, Canada – May 25, 2011 —GWAVA announces the latest release of Retain Message Archiving version 2.5. Retain 2.5 provides archiving for collaboration tools along with significant improvements of its publishing tool.

“With this release of Retain, GWAVA has expanded the ability to archive enterprise messages,” explains Richard Bliss, VP of Worldwide Marketing for GWAVA. “We aren’t just emailing any more. We’re texting and sending instant messages. And these conversations are becoming important as we collaborate in different ways. Retain now archives message data from Microsoft Lync."

Retain now makes it easier to move and restore archives from one email system to another. It also allows customers to store archives from different email systems on a single Retain server.

Retain 2.5 supports Microsoft Exchange 2007 & 2010. In addition to email, Retain archives IM and VOIP data for OCS (Exchange 2007) and Lync (Exchange 2010). Retain also:

Provides litigation hold support for both ACL and role-based access control.
Offers improvements to the publisher. The Retain publisher has been extensively redesigned with new features including a full searching filter, both PST and PDF export capabilities and redaction.
Supports importing and exporting of PST files.
Allows any Retain-archived message to be restored into a different target Exchange system. Even GroupWise messages archived with Retain can be restored into Exchange. All Retain-archived messages can be stored on a single Retain server regardless of the system with which they were archived.

Email security product uses Kaspersky AV to combat increasing threats by cyber criminals

Montreal, Quebec, Canada – February xx, 2011 — GWAVA, Inc. announces the release of GWAVA 5, the latest version of its premiere anti-virus and anti-spam solution for email systems. GWAVA 5 is designed to defend against increasingly sophisticated threats posed by multi-national crime rings using email and botnets to steal computing power, corporate data and intellectual property.

To combat these threats, GWAVA 5 uses Kaspersky Lab’s anti-virus software as well as award winning anti-spam technology that protects messaging systems at multiple layers, beginning at the gateway.

Sophisticated viruses are being crafted by multi-national organizations to embed spam engines within an organization’s network. These spam generators then gain control of employees’ computers, turning them into zombie machines, and jeopardize the reputation of the host system. Many of these viruses are introduced via email.
