GWAVA, the worldwide leader of software solutions for Novell GroupWise, announced today that the first-ever GWAVACon Asia Pacific conference has sold out

Sydney, NSW and Montreal, Quebec – 31 May 2006 – GWAVA, the worldwide leader of software solutions for Novell GroupWise, announced today that the first-ever GWAVACon Asia Pacific conference has sold out. GWAVACon Asia Pacific is the first Novell event around the newly released GroupWise 7 product set and the new WorkGroup suite, a Linux-based suite of applications designed for companies looking to make the move to Linux. GWAVACon Asia Pacific conference is being held at the Sydney Harbour Marriott in downtown Sydney Australia from June 7-10, 2006.

First-ever GroupWise conference in Australia exceeds registration goal as interest in Novell’s mobile messaging and collaboration platform continues to grow.

Novell is experiencing increased interest as the company expands GroupWise capabilities via the Linux operating system. Conference attendees are travelling to GWAVACon from across Australia and New Zealand as well as from other South Asian locations such as Singapore in a clear sign that enterprises maintain strong interest in GroupWise. Novell's momentum in the mobility space also has major wireless carriers taking notice, such as the conference’s title sponsor, Vodafone.

From its inception, GWAVACon conferences have been the primary venue for Novell partners to issue important news regarding GroupWise products, services and technology. In 2005 Research in Motion revealed their GroupWise/Blackberry integration solutions at GWAVACon North America 2005. Intellisync and Novell gave the first sneak peek of GroupWise Mobility Server at GWAVACon North America 2006. At GWAVACon Asia Pacific, Novell intends to formally launch GroupWise 7 Service Pack 1, which promises to be the most flexible mobile collaboration solution in the industry.

Well over a dozen GroupWise experts are travelling from the United States and across Asia Pacific to speak at the conference. Keynotes include Phil Karren, GroupWise product manager at Novell, and Richard Bliss, vice president of marketing at GWAVA.

In addition to Novell and title sponsor, Vodafone, the GWAVACon Asia Pacific conference has attracted major industry support from a diverse array of companies including Research in Motion, Syncsort, Notify Technology, Nexic, Computhink and BrainStorm. Australian companies Advansys, Comunet and Tall Tower will debut as conference sponsors.

Although sold out, GWAVACon is accepting registrations for a conference waiting list. To register, visit www.gwavacon.com/ap/attendee_registration.php
