Gestern wurden in den Keynotes von Colleen O’Keefe, Sr. VP bei Novell und Charles Taite, CTO von GWAVA die Zukunftspläne für Produktentwicklung und Veröffentlichungen vorgestellt. Hier ein paar Highlights beider Unternehmen.

Yesterday in both keynote addresses, Colleen O’Keefe, Sr. VP from Novell and Charles Taite, CTO of GWAVA provided roadmaps for product development and releases. Here are a few highlights from each company.

Novell

  • GroupWise – the Ascot release is expected mid-2011; Windemere by the end of 2012
  • VibeCloud – the Zinc release is expected shortly in early 2011 with a follow-up release, named Unity, coming in late 2011

GWAVA

Charles Taite illustrated an aggressive release strategy for the GWAVA product line for 2011 and beyond. Some highlights include:

  • Today’s release of GWAVA 5 and WASP 2.1. GWAVA 5 includes full support for Windows and built-in reports and statistics.
  • GWAVA for Vibe OnPrem is now available as a stand-alone product or integrated with GWAVA 5.
  • GWAVA 5.x for cloud services will be released third quarter 2011. Support for Vibe OnPrem and Vibe Cloud will be offered in a single product.
  • Reload 3.5 will be shipping March 20 and include speed improvements.
  • Redline 3.5 will be released in two weeks and includes 64-bit support, centralized configuration of the monitoring agent as well as online, automatic updates.
  • Retain 2.0 is released now and version 2.5 is planned for March 2011
