Offener Brief an GWAVA Kunden – Roadmap für Exchange Support

Kategorie: Charles Taite

Seit Jahren entwickeln wir bereits unsere Produkte mit Windows und Exchange im Hinterkopf, haben uns aber aus verschiedenen Gründen entschieden, diese Versionen nicht direkt zu veröffentlichen

For years, we have developed our products with Windows and Exchange in mind, but have chosen not to release those versions for various reasons. For example, development of GWAVA 4.x has always been coded for Windows first (but never released), and then compiled and shipped on Linux and NetWare.

We are proud of our loyal support of NetWare, Linux and GroupWise, but we acknowledge that more and more customers have a mixed environment, oftentimes with Exchange and GroupWise running side by side.  We want our customers to have the peace of mind that comes with choosing a solution that supports both GroupWise and Exchange into the future.

I would like to share with you a brief outline of timetables to support Exchange through our security software (GWAVA) as well as our archiving software (Retain)

Security - GWAVA

Today: GWAVA 4.5 currently runs on the Linux and NetWare operating systems. GWAVA 4.5 can be deployed as a

SMTP proxy and today is fully capable of protecting any e-mail server including Exchange as a perimeter security solution.

October  25, 2010: At GWAVACon EMEA, in Berlin, GWAVA 5 will ship with support for the Windows Server operating system and continue its existing support of all e-mail servers including Exchange.

Archiving - Retain

Today: All of Retain 2.0's components and agents run natively on the Windows Server operating system.

October  25, 2010: At GWAVACon EMEA, in Berlin, Retain 2.5 Beta will be announced, ship with full support for Microsoft Exchange Server.

January 25, 2011: At GWAVACon Americas, in California, Retain 2.5 will be officially launched with full support for Microsoft Exchange Server as well as Lync (formerly OCS – Office Communications Server). Archived mail from GroupWise, Exchange and Lync will share a common database, allowing customers running a mixed environment to have a single point of storage and management of archived data.

GWAVA is fully committed to its continued support of Novell GroupWise, NetWare and Linux. We hope that by adding support for Exchange we will simply enhance our customers' comfort level with making a long term commitment to solving their e-mail management and security issues using GWAVA's solutions. I can always be reached at ct@gwava.com and would welcome any questions or comments you may have.

Sincerely,

Charles Taite
