GWAVA ist eine Versicherung für ihr Unternehmen

When you think about insurance... the idea is to make sure we are covered in the event of a disaster. It makes us feel secure and let's focus on enjoying life and being productive members of society.
In our personal lives we are very pro-active about securing our wealth and well being, and we do this in the form of life, health, auto, home, credit and disability insurance to new but a few.
We then insulate the insurance with additional security measure like locks, alarm systems, safety deposit boxes etc.
Do we wait for a problem before purchasing insurance? Of course not. Do we like paying our insurance companies, in spite of this? Of course not! But we do it, because the benefit far outweighs cost.
Right?
In business, we've implemented a lot of the same measures to secure our IP and our assets, essentially the money...without it..there's no business.
So what's the X factor when we look at these two situations? What's the one thing we need not worry about at home, that conversely is a major concern of many corporations today?
The worry about the inside job. Insider trading, data leaks, theft of IP, client lists, client information, harassment, wrongful dismissal, inappropriate behavior etc.
All these things can cause tremendous financial loss in terms of lost revenue, business, reputation, litigation costs, settlements and the list goes on and in some cases the business can go under.
A product like Retain for Blackberry will insure and secure your corporate assets.
...but it can also contribute to productivity... if you allow it...
Let's take email archiving as an example. Who archives email? Why do it?
Protection...business communication flows in and out through email and organizations need to secure and hold onto to that information in case they need again one day.
Email is old. still very useful, but it's old technology.
Whether we accept it or not SMS (or text messaging) is the process of replacing email. SMS is #1 form of communication in the world today more than 2.5 billion text messages are sent every day. It's still not the #1 form of biz communication, but it will be soon.
Now we have text messages. Many organizations simply disable it, right? Disabling text and/or PIN is like handing someone a laptop that cannot access the Internet. It is severely disabled at that point. Removing text and pin removes the single most useful productivity tool on Blackberry smart phone. There's no more efficient way to communicate than with text or PIN.
Every day we speak to organizations who tell us that there employees want to text. regardless of whether or not they allow it, they know that people are doing it anyway on personal devices, and with no way for the employers to track it. In many cases companies want their people to keep one phone, instead of turning off the corporate phone at night/weekend and putting it away until the next work day...
Companies also want to support multiple devices. No problem. As long as you want to spend a lot of time, resources and cycles managing this project for essentially ever... There will always be new phones to manage with new OS's. iPhone? Sure! It is a great device, but not for the enterprise. How do you capture text messages from iPhones? You don't!
