Das WebAccess Gateway umgeht den GWIA und den MTA innerhalb von GroupWise. Da GWAVA am MTA ansetzt, werden die E-Mail Attachments, die über das WebAccess Gateway eingehen nicht überprüft. Auch andere Virenscanner können diese Mails nicht überprüfen. Um Ihr System umfassend zu schützen, sollten Sie WASP zusätzlich zu GWAVA einsetzen.
Müssen alle Anwender meines GroupWise-Systems lizenziert werden?
WASP schützt Ihr gesamtes GroupWise-System davor, dass ein einzelner Anwender unabsichtlich vireninfizierte E-Mail-Anhänge in Ihrem GroupWise System hochlädt. Somit ist jeder einzelne Anwender in Ihrem GroupWise System geschützt. Aus diesem Grunde müssen alle Anwender Ihres GroupWise Systems lizenziert werden.
Läuft WASP auch auf Linux?
In Kürze erscheint WASP 2. Die Beta-Version ist bereits vorhanden. WASP 2 unterstützt dann auch Linux. Momentan läuft Linux nur auf dem WebAccess Server auf NetWare.
Does WASP do the virus scanning itself?
WASP can be installed as a standalone product. WASP actually uses a version of the GWAVA engine to scan WebAccess email for viruses. However, attachments sent through WebAccess are only scanned for viruses if GWAVA is installed on the system.
Can WASP clean the file instead of removing it?
WASP does not clean attachments. It also does not remove the attachment from the email. It blocks the email from being sent and notifies the user about the problem. The user is responsible for taking appropriate action.
Do I need GWAVA to run WASP?
WASP has been totally redesigned with many of the key features of GWAVA. In fact, the installation and management interface that is part of GWAVA is the same as in WASP. WASP does not require the GWAVA product in order to use it. However, when GWAVA is used with WASP, your entire GroupWise system will be protected from those emails coming in through WebAccess to the GWIA, MTA and PO level. Both GWAVA and WASP should be part of every GroupWise system for maximum protection from email viruses.
